This quilt is made with 16 napkins from Jim Thompson's store in Bangkok. Jim Thompson developed the silk industry in Thailand in the 1950's and is well known for his colorful and delightful patterns. I purchased these napkins several years ago with the intent of creating a quilt. It took a long time to decide how to piece them together to not lose any of the vibrant designs of the napkins. Megan Albright (GQCCC member) used monofiliment thread for quilting so the design would not have any contrast or distraction.
