This quilt was designed using the Procreate app on the iPad. I chose three pieces of open source clipart (a single pink rose, a crow, and a nest with eggs) and then made a digital collage where I changed colors and added to the images. I printed it onto fabric myself and then used big stitch quilting on the nest and embroidery around the bird. After I added binding, I carefully placed rhinestones. Lastly, I used recycled fiber filling to stuff the bird and her eggs from the back of the quilt for a trapunto effect. I enjoyed designing my own fabric but it was very difficult to sew through. In the future I think I would have it digitally printed by another company. The backing fabric was designed by me and printed through Spoonflower.
