Roofs of Mumbai

37 x 57

Jean Jurgenson

Inspiration can be found anywhere. Jean found inspiration for this quilt in the ariel views of the movie, Slumdog Millionaire. For each roof Jean fused fabric to felt, quilted it, stiffened it and tied it through to the back of the back quilt.  Each roof has a three-dimensional quality. This quilt’s new home is the International Quilt Museum, Lincoln NE, as a part of the Quilt National Permanent Collection.

Commercial cotton and decorator fabric, Annie’s soft and stable batting, felt, upholstery thread, Golden GAC 400 fabric stiffener
