Old Rusty Scythe

27 x 38

Aileyn Ecob

This piece traveled in an exhibit titled, Sense of Scale. That sense of scale is shown by contrasting the size of my little wild flowers, growing in a spot of sunshine on the forest floor, with a big, old broken scythe, discarded in the woods. The plants are jack-in-the-pulpit, lady slippers and trillium.

Commercial cotton fabric, Tsukineko ink

Machine pieced, hand appliqued, 3-D hand applique, inked, machine quilted
