Adding machine tape isn’t wide enough, so cut paper strips lengthwise, about 2 7/8” wide, from ordinary copy paper (regular or legal size), getting three out of each sheet. They’ll be 11” or 14” long, but if you need longer strips to hold bigger rolls of fabric, tape two together*, overlapping the ends. Please DO NOT use yellow paper strips, which the Guild uses exclusively to identify their thousands of fabric rolls! When attaching the label price tags to the paper strips, stick the printed label crosswise on it. This is important because the barcode readers at checkout can’t read labels bent around curved surfaces. *Use clear packing tape to tape strips together and to secure them around the fabric. (Scotch tape isn’t strong enough to survive the handling at the sale.)
Measure the fabric’s length and write it down on one short end of a 2 7/8”-wide paper strip. Fold the fabric like it comes off the bolt, selvages together, right side out, and lay it on the table with the selvages on the left and the fold on the right. Fold both these sides into the center, but not overlapping. Fold the top cut edge down about halfway (all the way for long pieces). Roll tightly from the cut bottom edge to within 2” of the top folded edge. Tuck the unmarked end of the paper strip into center of the roll, and finish rolling. Be sure the length you wrote down on the strip is still visible before taping. You’ll need to see it when entering your items into Rose, and when attaching the tags to the correct items. Secure the paper strip tightly to itself with clear packing tape. (Companion fabrics may be rolled separately, banded together with one paper strip, then entered, described, and priced as one package.)
It’s usually too bulky to roll but can be neatly folded and tied it with ribbon or string like a package, with it wrapped around all four sides to avoid the fabric falling out as people handle it. Hang tags out of cardstock with a label put on the cardstock work best for these.
Fold fat quarters the same way they’re sold in shops and wrap with ribbon in groups. You can fold or roll small pieces of yardage (less than ½ yard) together so some of each can be seen and wrap or tie them together securely. Hang tags out of cardstock with a label put on the cardstock work best for these.
Scraps often don’t sell well, but if they are generously sized and packaged well, there’s a better chance. Put them in a clear plastic bag or large clam shell so shoppers can see into it, and close securely. Use a hang tag or label tag, depending on the container.

The Rose by Consignor Connect App works with Square. The software is different from past software that Country Store has used for Consignors. Instead of creating a single item record for each item, the software allows you to enter a quantity. If you have fifteen (15) Fat Quarters that you are selling for $1.00 you create one item for Fat Quarters with a price of $1.00 and enter the quantity of 15.

The category and brand field must match. If they do not match the price that benefits the customer will be honored as required by law.
We are using the category field in Rose to trigger the end of Country Store sale. This allows us to set the sale start at a specific date and time.
Discount at Sale – Category Code DSC: Your item will be included in the 50% off sale starting at 1 pm on Sunday, April 3, 2022. Brand field must be DSC.
Not Discounted at Sale- Category Code ND: Your item will not be included in the 50% off sale. Brand field must be ND.
Rose currently only supports the 1 inch square Avery 94103 label. This category does not print on these labels. Thus, in order to let our customers know which items will be included or not included in the 50% off sale we are going to use the Brand field.
DSC: Your item will be included in the 50% off sale starting at 1 pm on Sunday. Category must be Discounted at Sale Category Code DSC
ND: Your item will not be included in the 50% off sale. Category must be Not Discounted at Sale Category Code ND
Take care to make sure that the Category and Brand field match by view or printing out the Item List.
The size field will print on the label. It is not a required field and we suggest not using. The field itself will allow you to enter more characters than will fit on the label. This field does not cut-off but will spill into the next field. The line then becomes unreadable. It was intended to clothing, i.e., S for Small or M for Medium. If you use this field be sure to verify what is printing on your labels before you print.
From the SELLING ITEMS screen, click the round blue button to the right of the item. This will bring you to the item detail screen. Make any changes you want, the click the blue
button to save the changes.
If you accidentally get into the item detail screen and you don’t want to change anything, click the white button. This will exit the item detail screen without making any changes.
You can also select and item by clicking on it. When select it will be highlighted in grey. Then click the blue button at the top of the screen. This will also bring you into the item detail screen.

When you start to have more items than fills a screen, you can use the search feature in Rose in the SELLING ITEMS screen.
To the left of the buttons you will see the instructions, ENTER A PARTIAL SEARCH OR SKU.
Click in this field and type part of the description or the SKU number you are searching for.
Then click the search button to the left.
Rose will then filter the items below to show only items that match the search.
To return to the complete list of your selling items click the button.
Under the buttons you will notice a down arrow and the phrase SHOW THE LATEST 100 ITEMS ADDED. You can click on the down arrow and increase this but it is not suggested. 100 items is a lot to scroll through and loading more items will make your browser session slow down. If you need to locate an item, use the search feature explained above.
With your email confirming your account information you will receive a pdf file of the Avery 94103 Label Template with the labels outlined in black. You can print this to use as test label stock to verify that your printer setup prints out the labels without cutting off the barcode.
Before printing out your template verify that your paper guide are right up against the paper as tight as possible while keep the paper flat. If the paper loads a little bit skewed the template will be off and will not work as a test label stock.

While you can enter and edit items in basically any interface from your phone to your computer to an IPad, the Avery Labels will only print in Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a PC. They may print in Chrome on a Mac but we have not been able to confirm that to date. We will be setting up a printer station at the Farmhouse to support those on a Mac in the coming weeks.
If this instructions below do not work for you, please reach out to us at [email protected].
Use the Avery 94103 Label Template pdf file as test label stock before you print on your actual labels. See Instructions in Printing Out Test Label Template on how to print the template out.
When you load the test label page or actual labels into your printer, you need to verify that your paper guide are right up against the paper as tight as possible, while keep the paper flat. If the paper loads a little bit skewed, the labels will be off.
If you have a printer that only accepts letter sized paper, there are probably still paper guides but they may be hard to see. On the Guild printer they are far in, but they are there.
Forty-eight (48) labels fit on one page. It is suggested that you print no more than one sheet of labels at a time. Printers will sometimes grab more than one label sheet at a time. Note: Rose tends to time out if you generated more than four pages of labels.
It is good idea if you have a smartphone to download a free barcode scanning app. The barcode format is CODE128. Then you can test to see if the barcodes will scan.
First you need to tell Rose which items and how many labels you want to print. In the Selling Items screen there is a quantity field next to the Detail field. This will default to the quantity entered into inventory. This is where you tell Rose how many labels of this item you want to print for the Avery labels. You can put any number in here.
Click the box in the Print Label column next to the items you want to print labels.
You can also use the blue Select All to mark all the boxes in the Print Label column or the blue Unselect All to unmarked the boxes. Note: when you use these buttons, Rose will update the quantities back to the inventory quantity.
The drop down box under the blue Select All, Unselect All and Print Labels buttons will read AVERYLABELS 1 x 1 INCH – PRESTA. If it does not click the down arrow and select it.
Once you have the correct quantities and items marked for printing labels, click the blue button.
This will bring you to the print preview screen. On top section on the screen you will see SELECT LABEL STARTING POSITION and a grid of labels to the right. Here you can tell Rose where you want to start printing labels for partial label prints. You click on the label that you want to start printing and Rose will adjust the labels. Note: if you do a partial label print and exit the print preview and go back into print another set of labels, Rose will remember the last selected starting position.
Review you labels in the bottom section to verify that everything looks correct and that you have chosen the correct items. May attention to the description, brand and size field if you used it.
Click the printer icon to pull up the Rose printer dialogue in the browser window.
Do not use the Print feature in your browser.

If you have a duplexer uncheck Print on Both Sides.
Background Graphics is unchecked.
If you have any other options, most likely you want to have them unchecked.
Be sure that you have your label stock or test label stock in the printer. TIP: If you feed the label stocks with the bottom of the labels (the side that does not say “Avery”) head first into your printer, the labels seem to line up better on the page.
Click the blue Print button to print the labels.
Here are some tips if you experience technical difficulties or get unexpected behavior in Rose.
If the above tricks do not work, always try closing down your computer and shutting it off and re-starting it. Sometimes we just need a fresh start.
